How much does a tattoo cost?

Updated 22.9.2026

A tattoo's price depends on size, detail and style, so the exact figure always comes from an estimate. Still, the typical Tampere price ranges give you a solid starting point for budgeting.

Typical price ranges

The figures are indicative estimates at Tampere price levels, not a fixed price list. Hourly rates in Tampere generally land between 80 and 150 euros depending on the artist.

What affects the price?

The price comes down to hours of work. Those depend on size, density of detail, style (realism and fine line are slow techniques), placement on the body, and whether the piece is done in one session or several. Custom design work is usually included in the price.

We break down pricing in more depth in our pricing guide, and cover-up specifics in the cover-up article.

How to get an estimate

Send an Instagram DM to @tatuointistudionero and include:

The more precise the description, the more precise the estimate. The estimate does not commit you to anything, and Nero charges no booking deposit: your session is confirmed by message.

Frequently asked

Do you charge a booking deposit?

No. Your session is confirmed via Instagram DM, and no advance payment is collected.

How do I pay?

Payment at the end of the session, by cash or MobilePay. You always get a receipt.

Can a large piece be paid in parts?

Large projects split naturally into several sessions, and you pay for each one at a time. Agree on the practicalities with your artist in advance.

Why can't you quote an exact price up front?

Two tattoos of the same size can take very different amounts of work. The price is based on working hours, and the hours become clear once the idea, size and placement are known.

Does an estimate or the design work cost anything?

Asking for an estimate by message costs nothing and does not commit you to anything. Custom design work is usually included in the price of the tattoo.
